It isn't a family name. She said she got it from a book, but I don't know which one.

I met a girl name Dale once, who went by her middle name - Sunshine. I asked if her first name was "Dale" (I was looking at the roster for a summer school class) and she said it was pronounced "daily" o.O She'd be a young teenager now.
