[identity profile] smallandneedy.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I'm doing this online summer course at university (it's summer in Australia at the moment) and whenever people post at the discussion forum we get to see their full name as it appears in their enrollment.

Saw one named Solitaire.
My question is: is that actually a legit name? I've never seen it used as a name before except for the game, obviously.

As far as I'm concerned, it's not a real name. But people are naming their children all sorts of crazy stuff, so I don't doubt that that's her legal name. Poor girl.

Oh dear. Yeah, with people naming their babies all sorts of insane things, I am not that surprised. But as far as I'm concerned, it's a made up name.

it's the french adjective for "loner", and from this meaning comes the name of the diamond ring (the one with only one gem).
Not a name anywhere that I know of!

Like the Bond girl (Jane Seymour) from Live and Let Die? Maybe it's after that...
