For some reason, in fourth grade, my teacher insisted on calling me Betty instead of Lizziey. For the next 3 years I was harrassed with "Betty Speghetti", "Betty Crocker", and "Betty Boop" by asshole kids. I wanted to shoot that fucking teacher in the teeth.

Most Bettys I know are Elizabeths. I know one woman named Betty Ann. I'm not so much a fan of that. I think it's alright as a nn, but on it's own it's meh.

Yup, that was me too, the only 4th grader on the overnight trip who had to bring a bra. Still would much rather be called Betty Boop than what I was called, which was "Lesbian" and had students surround me chanting it while jeering at me. (I'm not one by the way, which was the most confusing part of the torment)

Hahaha that's a good question.
At least everyone loves Betty Boop now. (And lots of people love lesbians too, ironically)
It's also funny how the opinion of our peers matters so much when we're that age and then we grow up and we're like, eh, what did they know anyway?
