I'm guessing his parents wanted to name him Tracy, but didn't want to saddle him with a 'girl' name, so they tried to male-ify it by sticking an N on the end. Well, I'd call it at least partially successful. It's better than Tracy, at least, but it still seems a bit feminine to me, and very trendy-made-up-name. (I wonder if Tracen would come across as more masculine? Maybe a little.) Still, could be worse.
