I always name mine after the cashier that sells them to me. Sometimes they end up with girl names, but that's ok. :-)

My cousin bought me one when I was 5. I named him Fluffy, after my favorite book, A Porcupine Named Fluffy. I'm still proud of my youthful appreciation of irony...

Mine have been Mr. Fish Fish, Ducky (named by my sister), and Dorito (chosen by my brother and then fiancee.

I figure the more random the better.

my fish is named eƤrendil :) when he was still nameless, a friend suggested i name him "alpha" which i find clever. what color is it? next time i get a fish, i want to name him a name meaning the opposite color. (ie, a blue fish named crimson or something). i also fancy tiberius but that's the worst ;)

All of my past and present bettas have been named after fandom characters or actors; first Lord of the Rings, then LOST and now 19th century British literature. Aaaaaaand because I'm a nerd, I feel the need to list all my bettas' names: Viggo, Sam, Legolas, Frodo, Gimli, Charlie, Bernard, Edward (Rochester), Moby Darcy, Daniel, Fiery Nicholas, Frederick, and then finally my first females, Jane and Lizzie.

I'm a little addicted to bettas, and currently have 5.
