[identity profile] satanwearspink.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I know everyone in this community hates the name Aidan but... you guys are excellent at coming up with good name advice :) So just don't tear me apart for loving Aidan and we'll do just fine.

Any middle name suggestions that would go good with Aidan?

So far....

Aidan Winter (is Winter too girly for a boy? Hmm... I don't know...)
Aidan Antonio (Antonio is the name my boyfriend suggested... eh...)

I've been on so many baby name websites the past 8 months I'm starting to lose my mind. :P Our baby's due in Feb and we're still up in the air about the name situation. I'm starting to panic haha.

If it helps I'm trying to find names from Irish/Celtic orgins. Italian would work as well. I'm Irish and he's Italian. But I barely like any Italian names but if you have any suggestions, knock yourself out.

Thanks guys.

Well, I know an Aiden Anthony, which sounds nicer than "Antonio", in my opinion.

Just take into consideration, that your son will most likely end up going by whatever middle name you choose, due to the fact they will be Aiden #500...

This!

I like Aidan, it's just WAY popular right now, so I looked for less popular middle names.

Winter is too girly and Antonio has the same A sound.

To encompass Irish and Italian possibilities...

Aidan River
Aidan Andrew
Aidan Alexander
Aidan Pascal
Aidan Maximiliano
Aidan Bain
Aidan Bainbridge

I really don't like Aidan Winter or Aidan Antonio... the first is kind of cheesy sounding and Aidan Antonio is too much alliteration for my taste.

Suggestions:
Aidan Ross
Aidan Connor
Aidan Declan
Aidan Pierce
Aidan Finnegan
Aidan Ennis
Aidan Quinn
Aidan Riordan
Aidan Murphy
Aidan Desmond

Aidan Capri
Aidan Leo
Aidan Giovanni
Aidan Luca
Aidan Matteo
Aidan Rocco
Aidan Salvatore

A lot of names I would suggest (that are Irish mostly) don't sound very good with Aidan because they have similar -an or -en endings, like Ronan, Orrin/Orin, Owen, Shannon, Nolan, Cian, Egan, Conan, Rowan, Brendan, Brandon, etc.

I also think that most of the italian names look mismatched... even some of the ones I listed.

I love the name Aidan and might use it as a middle name in he future... I just wanted to add Aidan Winter is kind of... an oxymoron almost since Aidan means little fire and all =P

I would never tear anyone apart for liking a legit name in the legit spelling :)

I'm part italian and part american, but I have to say I'm not a fan of mixed english-italian names. They just don't sound right. For girls it's easier, because there are many names that exist in both languages (like Isabella, Emma, Melissa, etc), but there aren't any for boys.

So I would suggest names that are used in Italy, although in their foreign version, like Gabriel, David (like Michelangelo's David!), Jonathan.

For Irish, I like Aidan Rhys (prn Ree-ss) :)

I think Winter is a tad girly, since Summer and Autumn are girl's names.

bear in mind the italian version is Massimiliano.

Aidan IS a great name, which is probably why so many have chosen it.

I don't have any middle name ideas off the top of my head, but I'm wondering, what do you think of Adrian?

Kind of similar sounds, an extra syllable, and not the same exact name that many kids of his generation will have.

I like Aidan Rhys and Aidan James, or Aidan Finlay (Fionnlagh). For Italian Aidan Alessandro or Aidan Alessio?

Oh, winter is way to girly... and I don't think Antonio sounds good with Aidan either. Here are some suggestions:

Aidan Gabriel
Aidan Lucas
Aidan Giovanni
Aidan Richard
Aidan Paolo
Aidan Michael
Aidan Alonso
Aidan Cesare
Aidan Maurizio
Aidan Charles
Aidan Vittorio

I guess I'm about the only one who sees Winter as unisex. I think Aidan Winter sounds fine. I also don't mind Aidan Antonio, but there are a lot of really great suggestions by the people above me. Aidan Ross and Aidan Anthony are probably my favorites for the Irish and Italian-related respectively.

A HUGE second for Aidan Rhys, although I'm almost positive (without looking it up) that Rhys is welsh.

Aidan Cormac
Aidan James
Aidan Alexander
Aidan Niall
Aidan Murphy
Aidan Patrick
Aidan Teague (lots of Irish spellings if you prefer)
Aidan Tomas

Good luck! I love Aidan! I think the variants will end up being more popular, so I don't think I'd worry...might be surrounded by Jayden, Cayden, Braden, Raiden, Zaden, etc....

I just googled italian baby boy names *shrugs* Either version is pretty darn cool, actually. I like it way better than, like, Maximillion or whatever those other Max names are.
