Uh oh... We have an Aidan fan. ; )
Dec. 31st, 2009 12:22 amI know everyone in this community hates the name Aidan but... you guys are excellent at coming up with good name advice :) So just don't tear me apart for loving Aidan and we'll do just fine.
Any middle name suggestions that would go good with Aidan?
So far....
Aidan Winter (is Winter too girly for a boy? Hmm... I don't know...)
Aidan Antonio (Antonio is the name my boyfriend suggested... eh...)
I've been on so many baby name websites the past 8 months I'm starting to lose my mind. :P Our baby's due in Feb and we're still up in the air about the name situation. I'm starting to panic haha.
If it helps I'm trying to find names from Irish/Celtic orgins. Italian would work as well. I'm Irish and he's Italian. But I barely like any Italian names but if you have any suggestions, knock yourself out.
Thanks guys.

A lot of names I would suggest (that are Irish mostly) don't sound very good with Aidan because they have similar -an or -en endings, like Ronan, Orrin/Orin, Owen, Shannon, Nolan, Cian, Egan, Conan, Rowan, Brendan, Brandon, etc.
I also think that most of the italian names look mismatched... even some of the ones I listed.

omg this, I love Irish names and I have the hardest time because they all end in -an, -en

Date: 2009-12-31 12:34 pm (UTC)I'm part italian and part american, but I have to say I'm not a fan of mixed english-italian names. They just don't sound right. For girls it's easier, because there are many names that exist in both languages (like Isabella, Emma, Melissa, etc), but there aren't any for boys.
So I would suggest names that are used in Italy, although in their foreign version, like Gabriel, David (like Michelangelo's David!), Jonathan.
For Irish, I like Aidan Rhys (prn Ree-ss) :)
I think Winter is a tad girly, since Summer and Autumn are girl's names.

Kind of similar sounds, an extra syllable, and not the same exact name that many kids of his generation will have.

Good luck! I love Aidan! I think the variants will end up being more popular, so I don't think I'd worry...might be surrounded by Jayden, Cayden, Braden, Raiden, Zaden, etc....

Date: 2009-12-31 07:10 pm (UTC)I think you're right, I hear so many Cayden, Jayden, etc combinations... And honestly I don't think he'll be surrronded by thousands of Aidans... It may be popular but there are also a ton of OTHER popular names as well. I think he'll be just fine :)
