I think I read somewhere that the name was Wendy was made up by JM Barrie for Peter Pan and it became a common name after the book came out!

My aunt's name! :) I like it, because it makes me think of my aunt's characteristics: seemingly normal, but secretly kooky and exciting. Same reason I appreciate my mom's name, Beth. :)

I like it for a child but not so much for an adult. For that reason I'd use Gwendolyn for the full name and Wendy as a childhood nickname.

I really like it, but it would never work with my last name which also starts with W. I knew an adult Wendy so I think of it more as a legitimate name than just the character from Peter Pan.
