I like Finnian, Noah, Cate, August, Atticus, Clementine, Mia (we have 2 in our preschool), Emerson, and Delaney. In fact I can see myself using any of these except for Cate because my two best friends are Kathleen and Katherine.

Actually the US (Pacific Northwest). We just happen to have a lot of nicknames. Plus, because they're at the three to five age, we add y or ie to the end of just about everything: Frankie, Cliffy, etc.

I do to. Gus is so cute, but as an adult, I could imagine someone going, "Seriously? How am I supposed to be taken seriously." That's what's great about August. Plus, Augie is just not a cute nn, in my opinion.

I think what's kind of sad now is that you have to wonder when you hear names like that because it's totally possible for parents to give kids names like Linguine. It's probably how people felt about those who came out of the hippie movement. I have a friend whose parents named him Snowflake.

Wow, I'm surprised! Usually with any given group of kids' names from the US there'll be all kinds of kre8tyve spellings and trendy names. I'm glad that somewhere around here that isn't necessarily the case!
