The villain, named!

So Primrose won over Peony, 8 to 2. For the moment, at least, I'm going with Primrose. Thanks, everybody!

If anyone's interested, this villain-- Lilith/Primrose-- is something called a Shadow. They bond to a human at puberty and take on whatever appearance will appeal to that human most. The human names them and is supposed to take care of them. Sadly, of course, a lot of Shadows end up as little more than slaves and toys. Here's the names of some of the other Shadows in the story:

Galatea (nn Teya)

Adonis

It's not hard to tell which ones are the toys.
