We went to an outdoor festival yesterday and met a young woman with a beautiful tattoo.
We complimented her and she said, "Oh, my name's Acacia and I love it so much I got the plant as a tattoo."

What are some of your favourite botanical names?

Acacia is alright. I don't really like the sound of it, though. I'm not generally into flower names that aren't normally used. I like Rose and Lily. I do, however, like Magnolia and Zinnia. I like Susan too, which to me is a flower name because it makes me think of Black-eyed Susans.

I love the name Acacia, that would have been my son's name if he had been a girl. I also love Hyacinth, Dahlia, and I adore Daisy but I'd never use it because I don't think it ages well.

Lily is a family namesake that I think is nice, but becoming more common. I love Briar something fierce. I also like Daphne, Cassia and Fern.

There are others that I like and don't love and even more that I am just not crazy about as a name, even though I love flowers.

I used to love Lily, but then I heard it just about everywhere and I became kinda sick of it. :P

Another reason to think of Susan as a botanical name: it's from the Hebrew for 'lily.' One reason I want to name a daughter Lily; my mom's name is Susan.

Yeah, Daisy is cute on a little girl, and also cute on an old lady, but not so much in between... Dahlia is lovely on all ages, though.

I knew an Acacia. I liked that it it was different, I've only ever known the one, but I don't care much for the actual name.

I love Daisy, Poppy and Sage. I do like Violet as well, and would probably use it, though it's a little more boring to me. And Kiwi. Is that botanical? Anyway, I love the name Kiwi so much, but it's probably a little too much for most people.
