I posted a little while back about my boyfriend who is going through the process of changing his name.

To make it short and sweet, he has NO relationship with his father. So he does not want to pass on his fathers last name of Silvia, and decided on changing to his mothers maiden name. His mom also said that when her youngest brother turns 18, she also will consider changing her name back to her maiden name.

So Craig James Silvia is now Mr. Craig James Reed.

And if this continue the way they are, (we have been dating for 6 1/2 years) I will be the future Mrs. Catherine Reed.

Aw, that's great. My ex boyfriend who I'm still very close to also did the same thing. His father pretty much abandoned him as a baby so he changed his name to Jamie Balantyne after his mother's maiden name. I think it's a wonderful thing to do :)
