my baby's name

I thought I'd give out my baby's name, for both girl and boy...

I'm due March 1, and it's a boy :) My husband and I have been trying for 3 years, and we finally have our first on the way :)


Our boy name is Archer James Calvert. Were we having a girl, her name would be Addison Michelle Calvert :) It took a lot of work for us to come up with these names, because I love so many names! But these two made the top.

thank you! :) James is a family name (i'm not totally fond of it, but it's proper), my husband's side, all the way up, all the first born boys have the middle name James, further back than we can find record of! So I figured it to be proper :)

Those are nice solid names but, um, did you know that there are two sibling characters on the show "Private Practice" named Archer and Addison? I don't even watch the show but I once caught an episode and thought Archer sounded like a good name.

I really like the names though. I've seen the show before, I'm more of a Grey's Anatomy girl, hehe. BUT my husband and I got the names decided before we saw the show. I've always liked Addison, cause it's like Madison, but not as popular, and Archer is cute because it's definitely NOT popular, and I kind of love the nickname Archie. :P

But yeah, I got the Addison/Archer sister/brother thing. OH WELL! They work and they're cute, right? hehe

archer james calvert is an awesome name! archie is cute, too. if you have a girl and name her addison, will you call her addie? addie and archie make an adorable pair. i think addison is on the trendy side and i prefer adeline or adelaide (both of which i think sound better with archer than addison, since they're a bit more old fashioned and archer has kind of an old fashioned feel to it), but either way i really like addie. michelle is pretty, too. overall cute names. :)

aw thanks! Addison is pretty old fashioned, but unfortunately for me I suppose it's gained a lot of popularity recently... Michelle is my sister's name, that's why I have that one chosen. And yeah, It would be Addie and Archie. I wish Addison wasn't so trendy, but besides that fact I think it's really cute. And I knew at least 20 adeline's when I was in school, so I'm not too fond of it... must be our areas??

I think Archer is pretty cool, not my style but I don't mind it. I actually like Addison quite a bit as well, and I think Addie is an ADORABLE nickname. Congrats!

Honestly, I dislike them both. Archer is too wordy and Addison is too trendy and makes no sense on a girl. I love James though and Michelle is alright. Congratulations on your baby!

Congratulations! You must be so excited. I'm not normally a fan of the occupation-surname names (Cooper and Parker do nothing for me) but I love Archer! It's sort of quirky without being bizarre. Plus I just like the sound of it. James is a nice, solid middle name that brings it all back down to Earth.

I'm not a big fan of Addison but it's not terrible.

Good luck with the whole roller-coaster parenting ride!

I love Archer! I used to like Addison because I like the nickname Addie but it's a boys name and really popular so I don' like it for me anymore.. But I think it's a nice name!

just as Madison is Matthew's son.. but obviously you don't care that it is a BOYS name.. no matter how much it is in the girl's section. it doesn't change that it IS a boys name.

maybe i came across as rude, unfortunately that can happen since this is just text on a screen... i wasn't trying to! I know Addison means Adam's Son, but I have never once seen this for a boy or met/heard of any boy named Addison. Same thing with Madison... I know Madison is a last name, but I haven't seen/heard of/met any boy named Madison. It's not that I don't care that it may be a boy's name, I think it's cute, and I've met quite a few girls with the names Addison and Madison.. Sorry if I came off a little abrupt or harsh, I really wasn't trying to.

hahaha, the first time i heard it/read it, i was like, "well that's interesting.." in a not awesome way... but i read it a couple times and said it a few times, talked about it, and it completely grew on me!
