Way, way too close. That's how I've seen it pronounced on girls, but when I see it's on boys, it's like eh-lie-sha, which really isn't that far from eh-lie-jah.
I love the names Elijah and Elisha - I actually prefer Elisha (pronounced Ee-LIE-sha) but the partner vetoed it because he would think too many people would pronounce it A-lee-sha, and that it was close to a girls' name. I also have a little cousin named Elijah, so too close.
