[identity profile] bambiblake007.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
the other day i was reading an article in a magazine about a couple who had 3 daughters:  ALPHA, PERI, & ECHO
i like all three ok, but they seem more fitting for charcters in a soap opera or in a novel to me :P

also a guy i went to school with and his girlfriend have 2 sons:  JOHN BRODY & BRYOR COLE
using "John" as a first name is a family tradition, btw
(John Edward, John Thomas, John Corbin), that's 4 generations of John's counting Brody now :D

Bryor is weird, makes me think of Briar like Briar Rose, which is yah know, Sleeping Beauty.

The boy names I like. I like Brody and my husband's name is John so I can't complain (it's also a family name). Bryor is different but I dated a guy, I can't remember his real name...he went by Sunny, but, gosh, those little bears, starts with a B, it's totally slipped my mind.

The girls, Echo is a dolphin from Sega, Peri...like peri-mortum? or however you spell it, and Alpha, well, if it's the oldest I guess it makes sense???

i like echo, but the myth makes me sad. :/ alpha reminds me of wolves, and therefore i'd think "alpha male", so... haha, not a daughter name. peri will always be a prefix to me. it's a nice sibset i guess.
the boy names are nice, though i'm not fond of brody or bryor. i agree with the comment about bryor/briar, and wonder why it's not bryan.

The girls: Those are a bit much all together. To me, Alpha isn't a name (it just makes me think 'alpha male'), Peri looks/sounds like a nickname, and Echo...is probably the only one in this post I kind of like.

The boys: John is boring (but I get that it is a family name), Brody is ugly, Bryor makes me think of Briar Rose (Sleeping Beauty), and Cole is...okay...I guess.

Echo is totally a guilty pleasure, I would NEVER use it on a child but I would totally use it on an animal.

Alpha, Bryor and Peri are weird. Such an odd combo with John!

I will always love the name Echo. It's beautiful. I don't know if I would ever use it, but I love it. That others don't even capture my attention.

I just had the sudden urge to watch Dollhouse, with Alpha and Echo flying around loosely.
