FYI: She is originally from Nigeria.

I quite like it (maybe because I like the person, haha) but generally I'm not fond of nouns/adjectives etc as names. I think we had 'Perfect' a while ago? I didn't like that at all.

I call my daughter Precious, but I don't think I like it as a given name. in fact, I think it's pretty horrid as a real name.

Also, I've known about 10 cats named Precious.

But Precious is indeed better than Perfect.

I couldn't say that and keep a straight face... ever seen that episode of Friends when Phoebe can't say the girl's name (I actually think it was Precious) and calls her Tiffany or something? That's how I feel about the name Precious.

There was a girl in my high school named Precious.

I didn't like the name then and I still associate her with that name. She was anything BUT precious (think loud, obnoxious, always breaking rules and fighting).

See, the Precious I know is the lovliest, sweetest girl...I don't think I would like the name if it was associated with the girl you described! Actually, I probably wouldn't like it too much if she wan't my friend.

Unfortunately, Precious has negative connotations for me due to past experiences in college.
