I love it since way before it started to get so common.
Ella Ruby was one of my favorite combination. Then they both became common!

I grew up with a friend named Ruby. She's still the only person I've ever met with the name.

I'm not in favor of using highly popular names so if I were in the UK I'd steer clear. But I do like the name! It's crisp.

If somehow baby #2 is a girl (we're not 100% it's another boy!) I'm using Ruby. :)

We're not in the UK, so it doesn't bug me re: popularity.

Our resident crazy in this town is a lady named Ruby that walks around with black hands from gathering walnuts and pecking her temple with one finger. She also goes by "Pecker-Head" so nah, I can't stand Ruby because of association.

I love it, and it's really high up on my own list so I'd love to use it, but not if it's still as popular as it is now by the time I have kids.

I picked 'Meh, it's okay' but I feel like that's a bit too negative for what my actual opinion on the name is. I like it, I just don't love it. I don't really have any negative feelings about it, though.

I really like it, have done for years. Style wise it fits with my other names and likes (female but not frilly, simple, spunky, easy to say/spell, etc). But yes being in the UK the popularity is driving me crazy, so keep trying to get over it. Hopefully I'll only have two girls (or maybe adopt, and she'd be named that already) then it won't be an issue.

My best friend has a dog named Ruby. It's all I can think about when I hear the name.

She's a sweet dog, though.

I like it but it is not a name I would use.

I have always hated this name; I think it's horrible. ^^;

It's one of my top three.

I'm really wary of it being so popular in England. I think the US is a couple steps behind in many European trends, so I wouldn't be surprised if it caught on big here too. It's definitely one to watch. I would totally use it, if it wasn't possible it would be the next Emma or Isabella.
