I just suddenly remembered a name from someone I knew really really long ago. The name is Annique. Not sure how it was spelled, but it was like Ann-EEK.
I overheard someone calling out to a Monique, but in the crowd noise I couldn't hear it properly and then suddenly the name Annique popped into my head.

I thought... hmm... no that's not a name... is it? And then it came stronger into my head and now I distinctly remember that I knew someone called Annique when I was a very young child, like 4 or 5. Probably someone who I went to preschool or kindy with. I can't remember her at all but I'm certain now that there was someone with that name. I googled it, and sure enough the name exists, but I haven't heard it all this time.

I have no idea now whether I like this name or not.
1. What do you think?
2. Have you ever had a name pop into your head out of nowhere and what was it?

1. I don't like it, it makes me think of the word antique.
2. No, I don't think so; nothing uncommon at any rate. =/

It's a pretty common name in the Netherlands, usually spelt as Anniek.

I know a little girl named Anique, apparently because her parents wanted to name her something "unique." Their names were Nick and Carla, and they named their daughter Nickala.... =S

I LOVE that name. I prefer the Dutch spelling Anniek though. In kindergarten there was a girl with a sister named this. I've also seen Annick, but I'm not very fond of that spelling. Here, we pronounce it Ah-NEEK.

I love it!

Gloriana popped into my head for days until I found out that it was a country band.

1. I have a cousin and her name is Anique. It is a common(ish) name in the Netherlands (where my Aunt - her mom - is from)... I think that it is a very sweet name - but maybe that is because Anique is that way.

2. Lark, I love this name for some reason. It popped in my head a few months ago and I love it.
