[identity profile] tiarrajanae.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Let's play a game. I have three female characters, all in the mid-20's. I had names for them originally, but now I think I need something new. I'll provide a short description for each, and you tell me a name what you think would fit! I'm open to all names, so just throw them out there.

Number 1: Hardworking professional. Recent Harvard graduate. Generally an all-work-no-play type. Very close to her immediate family and her long-term boyfriend, but otherwise, doesn't have any friends.

Number 2: Lived a very bohemian lifestyle. She's kind of hard to get close to. She has no ties to anything or anyone in the world, and she prefers to be on her own.

Number 3: Lived a very sheltered life growing up. After freshman year, she dropped out of college to travel the world. Very outgoing, life-of-the-party girl. Has a "here today, gone tomorrow" mentality.

1. Katherine, Elizabeth, Nora, Alexandra, Laura. Something traditionally feminine and classic.

2. I'd hesitate to name her something weird like Heaven or Dream - just because she's a Bohemian doesn't mean her parents were when they named her that. I'd go for something that evokes the feelings without being over the top. Cassandra (ties to the prophetess), Leilani, Rosalie or Rosalind/Rosalyn, Danica, Lisette.

3. If she lived a sheltered life I'd assume her parents were conservative, maybe sort of uptight, so I'd go for something that was popular and normal around her birth but that still signifies "popular girl." Heather, Jennifer, Amanda, Stephanie, Christina, Rachel, Amber, Danielle, Kimberly, Crystal, Tiffany, Michelle, Rebecca, Kristin all evoke that for me.

1) Lillian, Nora, Rachel all seem fitting to me

2) Sounds a lot like my former roommate, Justine. So that's the name that stands out to me, honestly!

3) Samantha was the first thing that came to mind. or, what the above said anout popular and normal around the time of her birth
