hello all!
i really need help picking out baby names! i am due january 8th, and my fiance and i have a "veto policy" (to which my favorite name, Vivian, was lost) and here are the names that have made it through the many difficult rounds:
boy names so far:
Oliver
Elliott
Ambrose
Milo
Finn (Finnegan)
girls so far:
Edith
Esther (fiance pushing this one, IDK...)
Nora
Ella, because my great grandmother was named Ella, until I found out everyone in the world is naming their kid Ella.
we will soon find out if it is a male or female, so that should help. also, my last name is diamond, so this will be the child's middle name (and i will retain it as my last name).
what do you think? suggestions welcome!

Date: 2009-08-01 08:04 pm (UTC)i really like all of your boys names apart from: Ambrose.
and i from your girls list i'd pick Esther or Nora. I do like Ella maybe as a nickname for something (Gabriella or Annabelle) rather than a full name becasue your right its veryyy common lol.

Date: 2009-08-01 10:09 pm (UTC)I like Nora and Ella the best for a girl and Oliver, Milo and Finn I'm kind of on the fence about (depending on your last name and how it flows)
but, due to popularity- you can always use Ella as a middle name..you do still have time- you can always come up with more I'm sure
--------------
we were set on a name for my daughter (Eden) until I was like 5 or 6 months pregnant and then I started disliking it and when I told my husband he agreed he no longer liked it and we had to start the name search again

Date: 2009-08-01 11:32 pm (UTC)Elliott...*sigh* Elliott, Elliott, Elliott... Umm, I'd never use it, because this name fluctuates a lot with me- sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't. ^^;
I'm not a fan of any of those girls' names, but I like Nora the best. I really don't like Edith or Esther (this one really makes me think of old women/gray hair).

Date: 2009-08-02 02:15 am (UTC)i also really like... elliott, milo, finn, esther and ella.
i feel like ella has run its course, fwiw.

Date: 2009-08-02 04:46 pm (UTC)i'd go with elliott or oliver. ambrose is too out there, i think, and i could see it being too close to amber for a little boy. finn is okay, and so is finnegan, but i think oliver and elliott grow up better. milo makes me think of a dog. i love miles, but milo is just...ehhh.
for a girl, i'd go with nora, though i'd personally spell it norah. i also like edith and esther, but i think nora(h) is nice and classic without being 'old.' ella is too trendy.
