What do you think of the name Nova for a girl?

ETA: I don't want to post too much but baby names are seriously taking over my life! I just came across the cutest baby girl on a cloth diapering website named Kiri. I pronounce it Kee-ree but I could be totally off on that. I really like it.

I think it's really pretty, although it's definitely not the kind of name I could ever see myself using.

I think I would normally expect a name like this to be a nickname, but I have a friend named Nava (also not a nickname) which I also like.

nova i think of race cars, hot muscle cars, a basset hound, and this lady that used to sing in tongues at church... so i'd have to say no. it's not a bad name i just do not get the right connotations for a baby.

I like it. Very astronomical :o)
I don't like Kiri because it's the second part of Hara-Kiri, or seppuku... Japanese ritual suicide. But I would pronounce it Keer (rhymes with veer) - ee.

My friend's mother is called Nova :) I kinda like it, I think. Probably wouldn't use it but it's a nice name.

Reminds me of where I'm from- Nova Scotia. So only good connotations :)

I like it...I might use it as a middle name only though.

I love Nova!

Kiri isn't bad, but it would have to grow on me.
