This was inspired by pythianlegume7's post a little down the page.

If you had to pick a pen name, what would it be?

I'm always curious to what people would say. I, personally, would keep my first (Amanda) and put my middle as a last (it's Gail but I would probably change the spelling to Gale)

i always said i'd use FRANCESCA SPENCER

others i've tossed around:
MANDY KAI FORD (KAI PRONOUNCED LIKE KAYE)
CLAUDIA WALKER
BAMBI BLAKE (MY USERNAME, LOL, WHICH THINK SOUNDS MORE LIKE A STRIPPER NAME)
D.G. HURLEY (MY CURRENT FAVE, THE INITIALS ARE SHORT FOR DANIKA GREY)

Probably either Jocelyn Rhodes or Josie Rhodes. Jocelyn is my full name and Josie my nickname, and Rhodes is my mother's maiden name and I just like it better than my last name. The first might sound more professional and I like that, but I kind of like how the second flows as well. ;)

Eh, I would use an anagram of my first and last name. So, probably Adrien Florance.

Shadow Beechwood is my stripper name or porn name or whatever, so I'd probably just use that.

My name is way too awesome not to use if I ever wrote something. That said, if I had to use something else I'd consider the following names: Sam King, Spencer Cate, Spencer Durden Cate, or Caitlin Ronning.

I've considered using my first and middle names: Jennifer Joyce. But I'm not sure if Joyce is something I should use, with James Joyce and all.

I don't really want to use my real last name. Though I might consider using an ancestor's last name, I wouldn't use my mother's maiden name either. I would like to keep at least the Jennifer, though.

My pen name is Rya McShme. I've used it for about 10 years now, especially on the internet because I don't want to post my real name and I just don't like my name.
Anyway, Rya is my nickname(short for Mariah) and McShme is just inside jokes from school put together.

Charisma Coventry was my pen name in middle school. Nowadays I would keep my last name (Raeder) and use some of my favorite girls names that my husband doesn't really like:

Cassidy Raeder
Denali Raeder
Karigan Raeder
Lucy Raeder
Persephone Raeder
Sienna Raeder

Maisy Lawrence -- it's my "stripper" name and I kind of think it's cute, haha.

Cybèle Adam is my pen name, although I'm now so used to it that it feels weird to write my real name on official papers.

I took a first name that has familiar sounds ("ee" and "bell"...which is probably not exactly how it sounds to you, but when it's pronounced by a French speaking person, "Cybèle" is close to "see-BELL") and that is much less common than my real first name (Isabelle, one of the most common names for girls my age here).
As for Adam, it's a rather common last name here, and I thought of using it because it was already attached to "Cybèle" in my mind, Cybele being the name of singer Adam Pascal's wife.

I've had mine picked out for a while (though if I ever needed it, I might change my mind seven times first....) It's a first name that I love but that fiance really doesn't like, so it's off my names-for-children list, and a surname that some of my ancestors had but is now extinct in the male line, at least in this branch.

I probably wouldn't use any of these now, but they were taken into consideration years ago. :)

Jaden Isabella Berry: Jaden Isabella was going to be my little sister's name, before she became my little brother. I liked it, so I stole it. Berry is part of my surname. (Jaden and Isabella were not yet popular...)

L. Weaver (Elle Weaver?): I used to sign everything "L," but then had to stop because the anime/manga 'Death Note' came out and became popular. (This makes sense of you've seen/read it.) Weaver is my mum's maiden name.

Lily Weaver: Again, my mum's maiden name. Lily comes from putting girls' names I liked into a hat and pulling one out.

Cidalfous Maple and Benny Portland: My very un-stripper-like stripper names, lol.

Maddy Hatter- Alice in Wonderland. Used this years ago on the forum-esque site, Gaia Online.

Shay Loren- Shay is part of my first name. Loren (pronounced like Sophia Loren's surname) is my mum's name.

My love for unusual names is surpassed only by my desire to show my former classmates that yes, it is I who am now an author!

Should I get published, I'm definitely using my real name.

... But when I was little, I wanted to write under the pseudonym Daisy Lane.

I've never needed a pen name, but I've tossed around a few ideas.

Valerie Perlman - for my favorite girls' name combo.
Marilyn Conal - From my and my sister's middle names and a variant on my real surname.
