When I was in year six which was probably back in 1999, we had these "peer support" groups for the new kindie kids. All these kids would have been about 4 or 5 back then.

There was one little girl named Ayden, and I always thought that was such a sweet name for a little girl. Flash to now where it is a crazy popular name for a boy.

I'm expecting a girl in October and Ayden has found it's way on to my list. I don't know if I'll use it for 2 reasons, it's an insanly popular boys name and I'm sure there will be a bunch of boys in her year called Ayden.

Or that Ayden is an atrocious misspelling of Aden (a Middle Eastern body of water) and Áedán/Aodhán/Aidan?

Besides that, I wouldn't use it on a girl, not as her first name at the very most. The name is masculine and should stay that way. No one names their son Elinor, now do they?

My name was a very popular boys' name the year I was born. I have had to deal with many males named Hunter and I turned out just fine.

i really like the idea of aidan on a girl, but i'm not a fan of that spelling. it kinda looks like you accidently forgot the "h"...
