So, we have moved on and we are now almost positive that we are going to name our daughter,

Edith Samantha Jane Rodriguez

As for nicknames, she will be Dita or Edie. My husband prefers Dita, I like both so we'll just see what suits her best! :)

What a relief! I am so happy, I love the name and I am sure its THE ONE!

My husband petted my belly today and said something like "I love my girls" and I said "You love Dita?" And he fell in love with the nickname.

I just kept thinking we'd call her Edie but Dita just kinda slipped out today and we both fell in love with it so we've settled on Edith!

Probably. But since I've never met a young child or little baby named Edith, it's really difficult for me to picture it on a child. Edie and Dita are cute nicknames though.

What about Edita? I know a Bosnian girl named this, prn. Uh dee tuh. I think it sounds more refreshing than Edith, and Edita Rodriguez is awesome.

Dita is kind of cute, but not as cute as Edie. You'll probably call her things you didn't intend to call her anyway. It happens. Our Ben gets called Benji a lot more than I foresaw.

I debated whether or not it was an old lady name at first, but then I was looking up the meaning of the name and I went to babynames.com, looked up the name and saw this adorable picture of a little baby girl who's name is apparently Edith and thats when I was like "Okay! Not an old lady name, cute little tiny baby name!"

I love that they have pictures on babynames.com of people with whatever name you're looking up, it can be a big help to match a face to the name, you know?
