HATE IT. I met a Sequoia once in a restaurant. I said "Oh, like the tree" and the mother said "Yes, she's tall for her age." WTF? Does that even make any sense?
I don't like it. It reminds me of Savannah, which I HATE. I live in Georgia, where one of our major cities is Savannah. The name is so over-used here and just NMS at all. I mean, at least neither name is trashy but... still don't like them.
Sequoia is my absolute number one guilty-pleasure name of all time. I think it's beautiful...the sound of it, the meaning of it, the associations I have with it (Sequoia National Park is one of my favorite places on earth). I would love to use it someday. However, it remains a guilty-pleasure name for me (and likely always will) simply because it procures reactions like those stated above. :o(
YES ALL THOSE VOWELS. That's quite an accomplishment for a name. I really like it. But I'm a sucker for nature names...I'm sort of considering just plain old Tree for a baby name.
