Hey everyone.

I am an amateur photographer, and will soon be studying to be professional. I also love the macabre and cemeteries; I think they are very very peaceful.

My best friend just moved to her parents' dream home in a rural part of our area (northern Illinois - it's Woodstock, if you're familiar with the area) and they have this old, old cemetery (mainly 1800s) about a mile away from them. This is it.

I thought I would post my photographs of the cemetery because there are a lot of names (obviously) involved in this sort of thing.

My comments (as written to my sister) and the link are below the cut.

Feel free to delete this (nicely) if it's not appropriate.

None of them are too good; I was rushed – my best friend Jenni was getting creeped out. I could have spent a lot more time there. I was going to go to Mt. Hope after (the one across the street from me here at home) but I didn’t want to go on a “busy cemetery day.”

This is Mount Thabor Cemetary [sic] in Woodstock, IL.

There is at least one photo of every single headstone in the cemetery. I was doing some black and white and one or two sepia, but then thought that I could always make them B&W and sepia on the computer – my goal at that point was to shoot each one.

Let me know which ones you have comments on.

9333 – One of my favorite stones because of how it’s broken.

9359 – Sad.

9369 – All babies.

9400 – Patrick Duffy, lol. There were many Duffey/Duffy graves there.

9405 – Jenni getting increasingly creeped out.

9429 – I love the colors in this one.

9441 – One of the two that made me cry. So sad, poor parents/family. The other one that I got choked up about was 9388. I guess I feel akin to her through the name.

9444 – He was kind of alone, it was kind of sad.

9455 – I thought this looked like a prop.

9465 – We thought it was a crypt, but it was an old outhouse, which I thought was odd. I would have loved it if it were a crypt.

9468 – This one is kind of odd. I put the camera up over my head and snapped. It’s almost like you’re not sure what you’re looking at at first.

9513 – While I wasn’t creeped out there at all, sometimes when I look at this kind of picture, really thinking about the fact that it’s a graveyard, it’s creepy. I like this one. Black and white-ing it would probably make it look old and crime-scene-like

9515 – I love the colors/contrast on this one. That whole set I was just playing with settings. One of my favorites.

9540 – Really like this one.
