I've posted on the name Poetry before and got a really good feedback(which is good because it's my favorite girl name), so what are thoughts on the name Poetry Alexa?

Trashy, trashy, trashy. Poetry is a noun, not a proper name.

(unless, of course, she is occupied by her siblings, Ballad, Epic and the local prostitute, Lay)

Poetry is a guilty pleasure name of mine, but I think it's awful in practice. Nice in theory, though.

If you're totally set on using it, I'd recommend using it as a middle name.

Alexa Poetry is a billion times better.

Hate Poetry, not a fan of Alexa. Even if I could wrap my mind around Poetry being a name, I think it'd need a very simple, one syllable mn.

Good feedback on Poetry? I'm seriously really surprised about that, especially coming from this community. I like Alexa though. lol

I prefer Poet/Poette.

The problem with word names -which I'm not necessarily opposed to, per se- is that they're mighty hard to pair with a "regular" middle name, without it sounding silly.

Besides, I don't like Alexa at all. I know it's heard of, but to me it will always look like a typo for Alexia.

I agree. I'm not at all a fan of Poetry, but Alexa Poetry would be much better (and less likely to cause a cringing response).

Look, I really don't like Poetry. But if you're determined to use it, Alexa Poetry sounds much, much better.

I think of it the same as its cousins Story and Lyric - better suited as a middle name. It's way too corny for a first name, and it screams of Trying Too Hard.

Personally, if I were the girl named Poetry, I'd hate Shakespeare, Dante, Homer, and Dr. Suess for life, s2s.

i was surprised to read that too. heh.

i think poetry would be fine for a middle name, but NOT! NO WAY! NO HOW! for a first. i am all for out-there middles though.

Um... it's terrible? Sorry, I just don't think that 'Poetry' is a good name at all. It looks... absurd. To put it nicely. It's like over-the-top pretentious.

Better suited as a middle name, I must say. Alexa Poetry sounds fairly pretty. I'm not a fan of the name (not a fan of Story or Sonnet or Lyric either) but that combination sounds okay.

I like Poet, Story or Sonnet better. Poetry just doesn't seem like a proper name.

I loathe Alexa (as well as Alexis, Lexi, etc) so I am not much help there.

To me it's a word, not a name. Poetry Alexa does have good flow, so if you're set on it, that's about the only good thing I can say. The only other comment about it is in regards to last name. What letter does it start with. Personally I wouldn't want to end up giving my child initials like P.A.D., P.A.N., P.A.P., P.A.T., P.A.W.

If you like poetry for a name because you love poetry, I'd like to suggest some other names that mean poet.

Apollonia - The Greek God of sunlight, music, and poetry.
Liadán - Gaelic for poetry. It says it's pronounced "LEE-dan" but I would go with "Lee-uh-dan".
Devon, depending on spelling, means poet.
