I am 36 weeks pregnant and we still dont have an official name picked out for our baby girl! I am just now realizing we need to get on the ball with picking one out because I dont want to end up in the hospital with no name really picked out! We both really like the name Roxie. I just cant for the life of me think of a middle name to go with it. My other picks are Ariana, Aria, or Teagan. But I cant think of middle names for those picks either! We know we want something really unique for the middle name of our baby. Suggestions, please?

Roxie is an awful name by itself. Roxana/Roxanne, on the other had, is quite pretty. I'd go with Roxie as a nick-name. That being said, some middle names for Roxanne and Roxana are Roxana Marie, Roxana Elizabeth, Roxana Giselle and Roxanne Victoria, Roxanne Patricia, Roxanne May.

Ariana, Aria and Teagan are tacky as well. As an opera singer, the only thing I think of when I see Aria a type of song -- not, in any way shape or form, a proper name.

I love the name Roxie shortened and my friend just had a little girl she named Tristine her brother is Tristian and I think that Roxie Tristine sounds cute

I think Roxie is a super cute name, but I agree with moldycelery that something like Roxanne would be better...because Roxie sounds so nicknamey ;).

I agree with a previous poster that nicknames for names are tacky, so I'd suggst Roxanne with Roxie as a nickname.

Ariana is mispelled, and like this it means "of arian descent" in Italian.
Arianna is the proper spelling (or Ariadne if you want to stick to the original Greek version)

Aria means "air" in italian, primarily as in "the air you breath", then as a musical term. I'm neutral to the name, as I am to Teagan, although it's much on the trendy side.

I agree, Roxanne would definitely be a better choice than just Roxie. For combos, I think Roxanne Teagan sounds very nice.

I've always loved the name Arianna, and I think it pairs nicely with simple middle names (like Rose). I'm not sure such a multi syllable name goes too well with unique middle names. I like Roxie, but mostly as a nickname-- I prefer Roxanna to Roxanne, though.

The whole claim to insubstantial names makes me angry. How often do we bash the mothers of "Jon"s for not naming them proper full names like Jonathan? Ugh. I dont really like roxanne or roxanna but Roxie is cute!

I actually prefer Roxie by itself to Roxanne. Roxanne just makes me think of that Police song. I think it would also work as a nickname for Rochelle, but if you want to name her Roxie, name her Roxie! It's kind of cutesy, but I don't think she'll sound too juvenile, especially since she'll probably be in a classroom full of Lilys and Kaylees. It's also much more original than Aria/Ariana/Teagan.

I think Roxie Teagan sounds cute.

I love the name Roxie, but I think it needs to be a nickname, as opposed to a full name. Roxie is great on a child, but I think it might be harder for an adult to pull it off. Some women could, but it's nice to give her options. Roxanne, nn Roxie, is great.

I don't think Roxie and Jon are in the same category. Jon is a nice stand alone name; Roxie is definitely a nickname, and very child-sounding. It could work on an adult, but I think Roxanne gives her more options. Jon doesn't need them.

That's only because we're used to it. It doesn't sound childish too everyone. Certainly not to me or several on these posts, or all the adults I know who's names are Roxie, so that's just an opinion, not a definite anything.

Jon (or John) is an actual name by itself. It's been used for centuries, where as Roxie has never been anything besides a nick-name. If one used it as a actual name it would be tacky as hell.
