WDYT about the names Blanka, Albina and Sofia (it's spelled this way since it's the most common spelling in Finland. We don't really have that ph spelling here)? I've started to really like them recently... They sound kind of old fashioned and unique in a good way. And kinda Swedish, too. That's also good in my books :>) I would probably use Blanka and Albina as middle names though.

I know a woman named Albina, she's Mexican so I always thought it was a Spanish name. I like Blanka okay but Sofia (with a ph) is very popular right now.

Blanka reminds me of the video game Street Fighter but that may not be as popular in Finland...I also think of the Spanish translations of the first 2 which are forms of the color white and therefore get associated with purity.

i like Blanka and Sofia

Blanka is meh to me. I like Bianca better. Albina sounds like Albino, which isn't good. But I love it because of the bina part. Mostly because my dad's pet name for me is Beena. I like Sofia, and the spelling is better that way =]

I've always seen Blanca spelled, well, the way I just spelled it. I actually like it better with the k.

The only Finnish people I know are named Hanna and Heta... well, I mean besides the famous ones like Mika Hakkinen and Kimi Raikkonen.

I've always thought of Blanca as a more Hispanic name than anything, but I suppose it makes sense that there would be some form of most names in most countries.

I know a Blanca who's beautiful and a ton of fun. I like the name - it's different but sounds like an exciting person to me.

I like Sofia; the spelling is so lovely, I think. Albina reminds me too much of the word albino, and I prefer Bianca or Blanche over Blanka.

I've always kind of liked Blanka, and I like Sofia too, but I'm not a fan of Albina. Too 'albino' for me ;).

By the way, I think Blanka is also prettier than other names meaning white (i.e. Blanche & Bianca).

For some reason, Blanka spelled with a k makes me want to pronounce it "Blaynka" instead of "Blahnka". I've always seen it spelled with Blanca.
Albina is weird to me because all I think of is Albino.
Sofia is nice though. My husband and I are planning to use it as a middle name.
