My partner and I were talking about names again and I finally coaxed him to give me some of the names on his list. Usually when we're talking about names, he just agrees with me. In general, we have fairly similar taste (our favorites are James, Felix, and Claire, and were before we even talked about it with each other), so I took out the ones that were already on my list and wanted to know what you guys thought of these ones:

Bree--I really like this name but I have a hard time using it because it sounds so nickname-y but I don't like Brianna. Maybe it it were short for Bridget, I'd like it better.

Callie--I like it, but when it's short for Calliope.

Rhys--Like it a lot, but always mess up the pronunciation even when I know how it's meant to be.

Sabine--Like, if pronounced the German way.

Scott--I would like it but I have bad associations with it that ruin it for me.

Vaughn--This is really growing on me, but probably more as a middle name. All I can think of is "Alias", even though that show hasn't aired for quite awhile.

Zinnia--One of my guilty pleasures, but I could never use it.

I really love Rhys, it's on my own list. I don't like any of the other ones. Vaughn and Bree aren't bad, they're just not my style. I dislike the others ones, especially Sabine and Zinnia.

I like them all but Callie. Zinnia is really pretty. I knew a girl named Zinnia and it suited her.

I like Rhys. Zinnia and Vaughn are okay. I don't really care for the others. Sabine almost works; it just sounds very...French. It kind of seems weird out of that context, I guess.

My favorite "Bree" full name is Gabriella. And of the original list, I like Rhys (prefer Reese) and Sabine.

Vaughn (m)--I prefer Vaughan
Zinnia (f)--this is a way of doing the flower trend without using a trendy name--very nice

I've been in love with the name Rhys ever since I read a book by Laurel K Hamilton... It was the first time I ever saw the spelling that way and I hope I have more than one son so I can name the second Rhys... My DH wants to name our first boy Alexander Shamus Owens... But I hate the name Shamus... so i'm hoping to subsitute with Boyd, so Alexander Boyd Owens... Boyd is a family name...

My favorite is Callie and Scott out of the list. Vaughn will always be a last name to me since I knew someone in school with it as a last name, so I see it as a last name and not a first name.
