Feb. 22nd, 2009 03:10 pmHow are the names Moira and Aislinn pronounced? Is there more than one pronunciation for either of them, or just one right one? I've known a Moira and an Aislinn for awhile, so I always assumed that their names were pronounced the right way, but I've never heard their pronunciations anywhere else.

The other is... As-lynn. Or that's how I'd pronounce it.

Date: 2009-02-22 11:09 pm (UTC)I also know a girl named Moira who pronounces it "mor-AYE." I wouldn't consider that a traditional pronunciation at all. Pretty sure her mom didn't know how to say the name when she saw it written and came up with her own way of saying it.
