What do you think of Nicholas? I don't see it mentioned very often on here, but I think its a nice solid name that won't ever be dated, with a lot of unconventional nickname potential in Nico and Kolya, or something. I switch it between a middle name and first name in my top 5 favorite boy's names. Wdyt of Nicholas Gabriel, Nicholas Alexander, Nicholas Jeremiah. How does it fit with Oliver, Calvin, Juliet and Katerina?

I love Nicholas, though I'd spell it Nickolas and never use it as a first name because everyone would think I named my kid after Nick Carter, lol (even though, technically, they'd be right but I love the name even without the association).

I like the name Nicholas! I agree wholeheartedly that it seems timeless and classic but not too heavy. I love all three names.

In my mind, Oliver Nicholas and Nicholas Calvin work out. I don't see Nicholas as a female name at all, though.

Ok, I now realize when you said "How does it fit" you meant as in with sibling names? -headdesk- Sorry :D

I think it works great.

Nicholas is a great name, although I prefer it spent Nickolas or Nikolas.

I prefer Nikolas, just because of somebody that I know with that name, so it's a good connotation. But I don't actually like the name, it's really not my style.

I love Nicholas, my first friend (who I met when I was a few months old) was named Nicholas so I've always liked the name. For a middle name I really like Alexander with it, it sounds very classic but not boring.

I like the name, and I think it fits very well with the set. As for the combos, Nicholas Gabriel is my favourite.

Nicholas is a great, solid name. Gabriel makes the best middle name--the others are a mouthful with Nicholas.

I like Nicholas, and I think it sounds great with Oliver, Calvin, Juliet, and Katerina.

I babysit a Nicholas Charles who goes by Cole.

I like Nicholas Gabriel and Nicholas Alexander the best. Nicholas Jeremiah is a mouthful.

I love the name Nicholas, it's one of my favourites. But it would be weird because we are close to a couple of Nicks so we couldn't really name our kid that.

Such is the fate of most of my favourite boys' names lol... but at least we don't have a Nicholas in our family unlike most of my other favourites so maybe it's a remote possibility lol

Isn't it just funny how associations good or bad with people who have that name color everyone's views? hehe.

I think Nicholas is a wonderful name and my personal favorite was Nicholas Alexander, but none of them are awful. I personally don't see Nicholas as a female name, but in case you were wondering about sib sets - I think they kind of fit together fairly well actually. Oliver is a little different origin, but it's not awkward. :)

My sister's fiance is a Nicholas and they plan to name their son Oliver if they ever have a son. Great minds think alike!

I teach high school and out of 90 kids this semester, 5 of them are named Nick. I don't think it's as common right now among younger kids though.

I love Nicholas. We have used it as a middle name for our son spelled Nicolas. I think its one of those names that goes well with a lot of other names in combos, whether its in the first name position or the middle.
