I was watching the news tonight, and they had a segment on baby names in Alberta. Ethan and Olivia are the top baby names in the province for 2008, but the segment heavily featured less common names that showed up last year too.

So, what does everybody think? I think that I can already guess for most of them, but it's an interesting list nonetheless. I'll totally admit, I've considered Anakin more than once.

Well, essentially it's the same thing considering the company has the naming rights. Rexall pharmacies are all over the place out here, so it's not like someone would name their child after Rexall Place and not realize that they are in actual fact naming their child after a drug store chain. Either way, with Rexall being so prominant here in many ways, it seems ridiculous that anyone would actually want to use the name for their baby. Some people's children..

Yeah, I realized after I commented that I might've said it wrong. Yes, Rexall, like the drug stores, I just meant that people probably weren't naming them after the stores specifically, but the rink instead. No doubt that people would definitely associate the drug store with them as well, even if theire parents didn't.

Rexall - I don't mind Rex, and I don't hate Rexall, but it makes me think of Paxil.

Tyranny - sibling of Anarchy I presume. =/
Science - oh come on! Today class, we're going to study science, no not Science (last name).
Tree - You know, Elan means tree in Hebrew, which I think is a better alternative.

In all honesty, Zephram, Anakin, Tree, and Leonidas aren't that bad. Neither is Xerxes. I actually really like Xerxes but I prefer Artaxerses.

Brazen-Lee could actually be considered clever, I think, i fit weren't so aweful.

The name Anakin is actually growing on me, probably won't ever use it though. The rest of the names listed here (except for the two listed in the first sentence.), are awful.
