[identity profile] shashafrash.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
My best friend just found out she is having a girl and her and her husband are stuck on names. Their short list is:
Reagan
McKenna

Rejected names:
Leila
Tatiana
Deidre
Nadia

Any suggestions for them? Bonus points if the name has a boy nickname.

ETA: Are there any names besides Maddison and Madeline/Madelyn that will give the nickname Maddie or Mattie?

Matilda? Or the 'proper' spelling of Madelyn: Madeleine.

For Mattie? Martha.

It might be a bit of stretch, but I could see "Mattie" as a nickname for the names Margaret or Martha. I know a ton of Margarets and Marthas and none of them go by their actual names (instead, they go by Maggie, Marty, Mar, Muffy, etc.)

I can't stand Reagan and McKenna also sounds like a last name to me. Mati can be a nickname for Mathilda..

I like Mattie as a nickname for Matilda. It's cute, but not 'overdone' like Madeline/Maddy are becoming!

I can't bring myself to come up with names for this post.

All I have to say is, Madison does not have two d's.

Maybe, I couldn't help it.
It was with a heavy heart that I read the shortlist and criteria.

it's too bad Nadia is rejected. :(

I really like McKenna, but i like it spelled "Makenna" better... so thats another suggestion.

I like the name Rebecca, because it can be nicknamed, Becca, Becky, or Beck which i consider tomboyish.

Also Nicole, they can call her Nick. My little secret though, is i plan on naming one of my future daughters Nicole just so i can call her "Nickle". Silly? Yes. I love it though.
