I wouldn't say that Makayla and Damion were "rare", with Damian ranking in at 154 last year, Damien at 197 and Damion at 466 and Makayla ranking in at 47.

I wouldn't do an "M" name for one of the twins, since you have an "M" name already. What about Allison and Emmaline or even Addison and Emmaline?

if you want something rare, don't go with madison and emily. they're both extremely popular right now.

congratulations :-) But i think you're a little off with thinking the names are a little rare...

Madison & Emily are very very popular right now, as is Makayla!
2004 results show (as 2005 isnt out till later this month... but i doubt it will change as top 10's are usually pretty similar year after year)

Emily #1
Madison #3
Makayla #47

If you go with Madison, whatever you do... don't call the other one Mackenzie, it's the most horrible overused name right now & there are so many Madison/Makenzie twin girls out there!

I just checked Babycentres records, as they've updated the top 10 babynames from their lists for 2005 & Makayla is entered at 9, so no doubt it's risen higher this year... not that it makes any difference, your daughter is already a Makayla! But... Madison is number 3, so it's pretty much guarenteed that the official records will show it's still very high up for 2005.

Madison and Emily are very popular...
I wouldn't use another name that begins with M or that ends in "son" (or if you plan on callie her Maddy then not a name that ends in y/ie)
Some ideas:
Madison and Amelia
Madison and Erica
Madison and Eliza
Madison and Emelie
Madison and Jasmine
Madison and Sophia
Madison and Georgia

And congratulations on expecting twins girls, that must be so exciting!!

as people have already said, madison and emily are incredibly popular right now. so is emma, so i wouldn't consider that an alternative for emily if you want "rare" names.

as [livejournal.com profile] theprincesslily said.. allison and addison are great alternatives to madison. some others are emerson, madeline, maddy or tamson.

instead of emily... emmaline was a great suggestion. some others are amelia, emmy, ellie, keely, lily or molly.

personally, i think madeline and amelia would be really cute for twins. ;)

I really don't like Madison... (or Emily)
And I would't want to use "Madison" because your daughter already has an "M" starting name...
These are some combos/names I think (personally) sound good with your other 2 kids names, and seem to be your style:

Alexis, Ayla, Astrid, Arianna, Adrianna, Annika, Ava, Breanna, Bella, Cadence, Cali, Carys, Eden, Holly, Jasmine, Mckenna, Kylie
Lily, Natalie, Seirra, Summer, Willow, Zoe

Bella & Ayla
Cadence & Peyton
Lily & Ava
Eden & Annika
McKenna & Arianna
Kylie & Holly
Alexis & Adrianna
Natalie & Breanna
Seirra & Summer (twins I know of it real life)
Zoe & Alexis

First of all, congratulations!! Having twins must be so exciting.

And I won't echo everyone else by telling you how popular Madison and Emily are, but I can suggest some cute alternatives:

Instead of Emily...
Eleanor
Eloise
Erin
Evelyn

Instead of Madison...
Madeline
May/Mae
Margaret
Marin
Mia/Mya

Addison and Eleanor are beautiful (suggestions from posts above). I lovelovelove the name Lenora also, and it sounds cute with Madison, although it's more sophisticated than Madison is for a child.

Congrats on twin girls!

Anyway, if you really want something rare don't go with Madison and Emily, there extremely popular (and those are #1. and #2. on my hate list no offence).
Here's some cute combos for twins(in my opinion):

Talia and Abgail
Charlotte and Serena
Sienna and Giselle
Autumn and Renee
Adelaide and Kristen
Eleanor and Lavinia
Cara and Elyse
Lily and Jade

i would definitely not go with madison if youre looking for rare-ish. thats like the most common name for little girls in the united states right now.

Typo!

Sierra

Sorry, I never pay much attention to my spelling online... it's sad considering I'm an English Major, oh well.

You probably don't know anybody by those names because they are fairly recent in popularity. That means that almost no adults will have those names, but tons of kids will have them. So unless you work in childcare or something, you will not be likely to know anyone with those names, but your children will.

My name is Annika and I can tell you it's nice to live with that name.. but usually I got by Annie.

So your twins could be Madison&Annika or Maddy&Annie. *g*.

My own suggestions would be:
Madison & Johanna
Madison & Charlotte
Madison & Lena

I was gonna say that. ha. I like the name Madeline, but my cousin just used it on his dog. so I told him he stole the name from me and now I can't use it. he said how about madison? I said yeah, if I want her to be the 75th one on the block! he didn't know it was that popular.

Neither Makayla nor Madison are "rare" in the least, but based on the fact that you like those two names (along with Emily) here are my suggestions:

Brittany
Kelly
Marissa
Miranda
Melinda
Claire
Emma
Natalie
Natalia
Audrey
Alyssa

Sorry I see enough people said the names weren't rare, you didn't need me saying it as well! Anyway, I also love the names Ella or Elle, which you may like. Melody is pretty and you could call her Ellie or something.

What about Madigan instead of Madison and you can still use Maddie/Maddy.

okay , you could use Madelaine & Elena (L-ay-nah) than you could have Maddi and Elli.
Also...
Madison &
Olivia
Meghana
Jasmine
Julia
Lyric
