Of the name Evander? I just stumbled across it on behindthename.com (though I'm sure I've heard of it before) and I kinda really like it. What are your opinions on it?

Evander Holyfield makes it a "no" in my book. Not because it's not a good name but because he's "too popular" (at least here in the US)

I never heard of him before tonight, but then again, I'm not really up on a lot of famous athletes :P I'm Canadian, so close enough to the US. I still can't help liking the name though!

i love love LOVE the name evander. especially since there are so many nickname possibilities. evan, van, ander, ever, etc.

it's one of my top picks at the moment, but the baby daddy doesn't dig it.

I like it, and I have to admit I didn't think of evander holyfield until I read the comments! haha.

It's interesting, and while I certainly wouldn't use it for myself, I totally wouldn't look at a kid with pity if he was named that. ;)

I found it in the "Inheritance" series, I'm fairly sure he was a King?? I always liked Evan, but Evander seems more complete to me. Plus it flows better with my future surname.

I've only ever considered using it as a middle name though, to honor my great grandmother Ev. Lucas Evander is my combo =D

I like it. It's kind of in the category of "wouldn't use it myself but would love to see it used." I don't know who Evander Holyfield is, so that doesn't bother me. xD;; I am obviously not up on my sports?
