Itzel Ariel is not my style at all, plus it looks like it rhymes. Maybe with Ariel as a first name it would be better. Itzel is Hebrew, right? I think it's fine to use a hard-to-pronounce traditional name if you live in a region where those names are common and people will know how to pronounce it without much difficulty. But if you live someplace where people will continually pronounce it wrong, I'd go with a more common Hebrew name that would translate well into both cultures.
I don't think I'd go with Itzel Ariel, because Itzel is uncommon enough that people won't know the name, and Ariel is for either sex. Of course, there is no reason why people need to look at your kid's name on a list and know if it is a boy or a girl, but I guess I'd choose something that would make it more obvious.

Date: 2009-01-28 03:05 am (UTC)My cousin is Ariel. The only reason I don't like Itzel is because I'm unsure how to pronounce it :)
