Jan. 27th, 2009 04:41 pmTwo names that I have seen in the past couple of days:
Shawnesty
Jacinta
WDYT? I've only seen them written, so I don't know for sure whether they're boys or girls, but I think that Jacinta is a girl.
Also, how is Gaius pronounced? I've seen it on an actor from Friday Night Lights, but I've never heard it said. He has said that he likes it because it's quite unique.

Date: 2009-01-27 08:39 pm (UTC)I like Jacinda better -- Jacinta sounds a bit harsh to me (it may just be due to a bad association.)
Gaius...I'd guess Guy-uss (rhymes with dry, or pie).

Date: 2009-01-27 09:14 pm (UTC)I heard Scott Porter pronounce Gaius on the season 2 DVDs and I'm pretty sure he said Gay-us. I'll have to check (my sister has my DVDs though!)

Date: 2009-01-28 01:45 am (UTC)I don't like the name very much, but I suppose Jacinto, the male version, it's much worse, at least if you're born in a Portuguese language country. It rhymes with 'pinto', which means chick, but is also a slang for 'penis'. And 'Jacinto Pinto' sounds like "I feel my penis". Can you imagine?

Date: 2009-01-28 03:49 am (UTC)I'd pronounce Gaius as "GUY-us". It's kind of cool. I love Caius and Gaia, so it makes sense that this would appeal to me as well.
