What do you think about the name Jinger? I kind of love it.

It's better if it's spelled correctly. But it still sounds like a stripper name.

No go for me--I automatically rhyme it with "singer" or "finger"

Hate it spelled like that. Spelled correctly it's significantly better, but it sounds kinda grandma-ish to me.

Ginger is much more pleasing to my eyes.. It does make me think of a dog's name.

Ginger is 1000x better. I always see Jinger as "Jin-gur".

Makes me think the parent is illiterate. I'm not a fan of Ginger either unless the kid is, you know, ginger.

I don't like Ginger at all, same reasons...it sounds too strippery or dog-like, and when I see it spelled Jinger it looks like it's spelled "jin-gur", as to rhyme with singer.

Ginger would be a lot better, but I still hate it, sorry... it sounds like a stripper name. Or a Spice Girl.

First: Ginger.
Second: stripper.

it took me a second to realize that you probably mean for it to be pronounced "ginger"... at first i thought "jingle", followed closely by rhyming with "ringer". ginger strikes me as a name for a horse or dog. also, the stuff that comes on sushi plates that i try to avoid. oh, and the spice girl...

Hate hate hate the spelling Jinger. Ginger seems a lot better but even then it reminds me of a name someone would use for their pet. And Ginger Spice.

I actually didn't realize this was "ginger" until this comment - I thought it was jing-er, like jingle.

I agree with almost everyone else, the G makes it better. I think it's a cute name.

Unless you're one of the Duggars, please spell it Ginger. I hate when people change spellings of names that were originally words (Kadence, etc.)

Hate it. It makes me think of the Duggar Family.
I don't like Ginger either because of the spice girls association.

Jinger looks like it would rhyme with 'singer'
Ginger, while not a name I really care for myself, is much more pleasing to me.

That's a Duggar spawn, not a person. =P

Hate it unless it's a nickname for Virginia (and spelled correctly), which I think is kind of cute.

Ginger is a better spelling, but I can't take it seriously as a given name - it's a nickname to me. How will it work when he/she becomes president?

I love Ginger, but when I see Jinger, it looks so wrong. Jing-er That second g becomes silent and it looks and sounds very silly.

I do prefer Ginger; Jinger sounds like someone misspelled the name just so they could have a J initial, sorry. I also think that it is better as a nickname to Ginevra or Virginia than as a given name.

I think people would either pronounce it wrong, misspell it with a G every single time, or else say, "Oh, like the Duggars?" None of which are particularly flattering situations, I'd say.
