Hi, My names Angela & I've been lurking. =]

Anyways, I'm really into the name Dorian [Door-E-an].
I got it from "Scrubs" Its JD's last name,
I think it makes for an interesting first name though,
The only thing I dont like is the possible and obvious nn, Door, ekkk.

What do you think? Is there any last names you've heard that you think make a better first name?

My first thought isn't JD, it's Dorian Grey. Whether or not you want that connection is up to you, but I think others would think of the story first too.

Makes me think of The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde (http://www.amazon.com/Picture-Dorian-Modern-Library-Classics/dp/0375751513)

My first thought is 'The Picture of Dorian Gray', which I hate, so it's a bad association for me, haha. It's an okay name, though, I guess.

That's what I thought of too. But then, I don't watch Scrubs so I've never heard of JD.

I like the name Dorian. Possible nn could be Dori, Rian/Ryan, Dan?

There are so many last names being used as first names these days it's had to determine what I would call a legit surname anymore!
