channa, chaya, chava

which of these do you like the best?
which do you think is the most useable?

ETA: Sorry I should have put pronunciation. The Ch is like in Channukah...like a guttural "h", so in English they'd probably just be pronounced with a pretty strong H, therefore, Channa = Hanna (to rhyme with Donna), Chaya= Haya (to rhyme with Maya), and Chava= Hava, to rhyme with Java.

I prefer Chaya (CHAY-ah).
Channa and Chava look like blends with Anna and Ava.
But I think Chava is a legit Hebrew name.

For similar names, I like Chandra the best (means 'moon' in sanskrit)

Chava is a legit Hebrew name - it's the Hebrew version of "Eve".

Channa is the prettiest in my opinion and it's the easiest to make more American.

It's also the easiest one to say.

That's what I thought, but knew about Chava for sure because I love it so.

While I don't really care for any of them, I'm leaning toward Channa.

Chaya as "Chay-uh" just makes me think of chia, as in chia pet, those ornamental things you put seeds on to grow a plant. And also, how a person with a really strong New England accent would say chair.

Chaya as "Cheye-uh" makes me think of angina, a heart problem. But as "Shy-uh", it wouldn't be so bad, save for the spelling.

Chaya as "Kye-uh", would be a better pronunciation, though the spelling doesn't seem right for such.

Chava just sounds like some new slang way of saying 'java', as in coffee.

I like Chaya the best- mostly because of the meaning.

I have no idea why I have the association, but Chava makes me think of cheese and other dairy products (maybe because of the word Cholov? Halva?), so I like that one the least. I prefer Eve.

Channa is my daughter's middle name, which I picked because it's the closest I could think of phonetically to Catherine. Other than that I'm not particularly fond of the name. I don't really like Hannah either.

Honestly, I think with those pronunciations...the kids would be very annoyed once they hit school. They'd always have to correct people on the pronunciation.

But I guess I like Channa the best.

Wasn't Chava the name of the girl in Fiddler on the Roof?

I like Channa the best.

This is probably specific to the UK, but over here 'Chav' is a widely used insult to describe the sort of kids who live on council estates and go around beating people up and vandalising phone boxes. So personally, that one is out.

The others I quite like.

Chava was the one who ran away with the Russian peasant. Tzeitel was the one who married Motel the tailor and Hodel married the revolutionary and followed him to Siberia.
