[identity profile] luvahs.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I was just looking in another community and the woman has a baby named Ocean. I scroll through reading comments and she says "My other daughter is Orange." I'm praying she's joking, but highly doubt she is. I like Ocean, though I would never use it.

Thoughts?*snickers*(as I'm sure I know them already)

i almost posted this name the other day! I took my daughter to the doctor and there was a lady there with a newborn boy named Ocean. I don't like it but it could be worse i suppose

I've come across a couple Oceans online. It's not bad, but Orange? lol I wonder if anyone really would name their kid Orange.

I am a substitute teacher and met a girl named Oshyn, pronounced Ocean. Why make a weird name even weirder?

I like Ocean for a girl. I have a thing for word names, but Orange is a little much.

I wouldn't ever use it, but I've heard much much worse than Ocean. I'd rather hear an Ocean than an --ayden or a Nevaeh any time.

orange? Not so much.

Okay, I like Oceanna better. In fact, I'm fond of Oceanna.

And Orange...? Sheesh, I love fruit/citrus too, but I'd sooner pick Clementine, Tangerine, Valencia, or something...

I saw that! I hope she was joking too, but I didn't quite get that vibe. D:

I don't like Ocean and Orange is incredibly worse (if it's real).

I worked with a lady named Oceana, pronounced O-sheen-uh. Not my cup of tea, but there are worse things.

That's interesting. I'd pronounce it "O-see-on-a," or "O-see-ann-a." Or perhaps with an H sound in the first syllable.
