I work in a nursing home, primarily dealing with doctors appointments and such. A lot of the doctors we deal with have very ethnic sounding names, especially the Middle Eastern influence.

Today, however, I was shocked when I was instructed to make an appointment with a doctor whose first name is Ripudeep.

Of course, the nurse sniggered and made a comment about how it was a good thing this doctor wasn't a proctologist or an OBGYN.

And, lest you think I'm making it up: HERE YOU GO. Do a control + f (or an edit: find on this page) and search for the name.

It's sounds Hindi to me. I've encountered some fairly strange Hindi names before.

Yeah, it's Indian... I had a friend called Gagandeep. It sounds funny in English, I guess...

Hey, it could be worse. I've had appointments with a Dr. Torcher and a Dr. Dye before, and I liked them both a lot. Haha.

I've been told there is a Doctor Proctor at our local hospital, but I'm of the opinion that it's a local urban legend.

I did once go to a Doctor Foster, who started the appointement with 'hi, I'm Doctor Foster, I've never been to Gloucester'...although I don't know how much sense that'll make overseas...

Lol, my mum claims she once encountered a Dr. De'ath (prn Dee-ah). It is a real surname, so it might even be true...
