WDYT about the name Pauline? Could you think of any good second names for it? I love the nickname Poppy for Pauline :>) I also like the Finnish version, Pauliina.

I think that it sounds quite old. And my parents make fun of me for liking old names, but that's just too old for me, I guess. I think that Paulina sounds a lot nicer, more modern.

I'm not fond of the name but I think Poppy and Polly are very cute nicknames for it.

I have a cousin named Paola who goes by Paolina (in italian it's the diminuitive form)

i don't like any name that ends in that -line/lene/leen sound, they all sound like women in their forties or fifties to me, i can't imagine it on a young person at all.

I like Pauline and Paulina--but I'm in the US, so that's the only reason Pauliina with 2 i's looks odd to my eyes. :)

I went to high school with a Paulina and to college with a Pauline, and the name suited both of them. I never thought of it as old lady-ish.
