I go back and forth every few days. Which of these nicknames for Catherine/Katherine do you like best?
Cat/Kat,
Cate/Kate,
Casia/Kasia (KAH-sha),
Catia/Katia (KAT-ya)

I'm probably the most conflicted about Cate right now. I think its really beautiful, simple and sweet, but it sounds a little plain compared to my other favorites imo. If it helps, my other favorite names are Oliver and Juliet.

cate/kate is the only one i like. and cat/kat is the only other one i'd even consider a legitimate nickname, casia/kasia and catia/katia are names in their own right and they don't even sound like catherine/katherine. it's stretching it too far, imo.

I take care of a Katherine. We call her Katie or Kate. I love Kate.

i think Cate/Kate goes best with Oliver and Juliet.
But I personally love the name Kat.
I like Katia too though.

my niece's name is catherine and she goes by cate. i like it that way and though the others are nice, imo cate is the best option.

I love Cate. I like Kat and Katia, but I prefer them with a K. I like Cassia (two S's) as its own name.

tbh i don't really even like the sound of katerina, but i don't think it's too foreign sounding to use in the US at all. regardless of katerina and katherine being essentially the same name, kasia and katia sound nothing like katherine so i wouldn't see them as nicknames.

I like Cate the best. It looks and sounds sweet, and ages a little better than Cat.

Catherine is part of my pen name and I love Cate & Catie. But they fit me, so it may not be true for you.

I like the idea of Casia, but there is no 's' in Catherine so I don't much get it.

Cate! It sounds sweet yet elegant, so I can see it used on a child or an adult. I like Catia/Katia as well. My great-grandmother is a Catherine that goes by Kay if you wanted another nickname.

I love Cate! I like Catherine (and Cate) with a C better than with a K. I don't know, I just love its simplicity and elegance.

My favourite is Kate. It's simple and pretty, and I think it sounds really good on a child as well as an adult.

I like Kate/Cate, Katie and Katya. But I am biased, because these are my names!

I don't think it is too plain, because there are so many nn options.

Cate. It's not really like that I like it best, it's the only one that I like at all.

My name is Katherine and most call me Kati or Katie (pronounced the same, just different spellings)
My grandpa calls me Kate which I love and I think i want to switch over to that when I'm older.
I also like the nn Kay, I might go with that if I don't go with Kate... I'm conflicted.

Cate/Kate, Cat/Kat, and Katia. Love em!

I've also seen Kaht (pronounced same as Kat) as a nickname for Katherine, which was a bit unusual.

Catherine! It's my name.

Catherine never goes out of style. In my opinion, "Kate" would look plain with Oliver and Juliet, but Cate doesn't, because it's relatively unusual looking. I don't think the names sound weird together. Very British. :)

Kate or Katia, out of these. I prefer Katie, though.

i like kat and cate/kate. i like kasia a lot, but would be weary because many people would mispronounce it.

I'd personally go with Catia or Casia because they are more unique and sound beautiful. You can always call them Cat or Cate as nicknames.

However, if your other favorites are less plain to you why not chose one of them. I've always liked Juliet and there are far too few of them in the world. :)

Every kiss begins with Kay. ;) I think that would be a lovely nickname to have. I have an Aunt Kay. I wonder if it is short for Katherine too.

I like Cate best from the list. I don't think it's plain with Oliver or Juliet at all.
