I'm pretty sure no one misspelled anything this time.

"drum roll please....Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa.
He was born on the stormest [sic], rainy night.
so Nakoa(warrior)...Mana(strength/spirit) Kaua(rain) po(dark)...
The name was always going to be Nakoa-Wolf, but Jason did the research on first middle name, 2nd middle name as you know is Jason's."

Namakaeha is the father's middle name/Hawaiian birth name which means "all knowing eyes".  According to his website he is the 4th generation to carry this name.

Still I mean I get the unusual "family" middle name. But still, Jason and Lisa have normal first names! Why didn't they try that idea?

I'm asssuming that Nakoa is pronounced Nah-koe-uh...which I actually kind of like the sound of.

Err, traditional Irish names are some of the most common names in the world. Mary, Margaret, John, Francis Xavier.

Now, Gaelic names, on the other hand, are horribly misused and are generally ugly.

I appreciate honoring heritage, and since the (to us) unusual names are middle names and thus will rarely be spoken, I really don't think harsh criticism is warranted.

Also, I kind of like Nakoa, and think it's better than Noah, and since I've had a fondness in the past for the biblical name Nekoda, it's probably why I'm more accepting of Nakoa. Wolf I could live without as to me it's the name of an animal, and I prefer people to be given names that are not associated with animals.

I have no idea who the parents are, but I love the name. Good on them for keeping their Hawaiian heritage alive. Very similar to Maori names which I adore.

That's a mouthful! But many Hawaiian names are--at least his name actually means something! And I do like Nakoa.

Yeah I must say all the coverage of this name has been bordering on racist. God forbid someone honour their non-Western culture and heritage. I got the same reaction when I posted a Setswana name to this very community. Yes, it may be different but ask before you put your foot in your mouth.
