Jazmine is pretty common... (yes, with that spelling too)

I am amazed that someone named her son Epic.

It's like mixing a bunch of letters together and thinking it slightly resembles a name. They can possibly pass as ethnic names, but only barely.

Hmm...I like Cesar, Cassiopea, Zane, Dallas, Lucius, Beryl, and Wynn...

But as for most of the rest, all I can say is this:

People thought MY daughter would be teased for being named Ripley?

HA.

I actually know a Wynn...he was in several of my daughter's homeschool programs with her.

Am I the only one who was amused to see Epic followed directly by Wynn? XD

I couldn't imagine actually naming a kid Epic, but it is something my dad calls my brother Eric from time to time.

Lyric is a guilty pleasure of mine.

This is the first time I've ever seen Anitra anywhere on a list. I have a friend who is named this, after one of Bob Barker's Beauties. Lol!

Epic is just... oy.

Rocio (LOVE this, it's actually on my list).
Cassiopeia (would never use it, though).

I believe Ottilie is French, but I don't like it at all.

*grins*

We wanted to name her after a strong, female figure. And we wanted it to stand out but not be a non-name. We wanted unique, and so far we've never met another Ripley, though we have heard of one or two...I won't believe it until I see them. So yeah, we named her after Sigourny Weaver's character in Aliens.

And her first middle name, Honor,(I love it as a name, along with all it's variances, Honorea, that sort of thing) besides being an OUTSTANDING old english name in its own right is also after Honor Harrington, another badass fictional female, in books by David Weber. And then Elora...which is fairly popular from "Willow" was actually made up by me when I cobbled together her three great grandmother's names, Elenore, Lois and Orpha.

Epic Wynn? Hahaha...

The ones I like are few and far between on this list but Elanor is nice (spelled Eleanor though), and I like Mila quite a bit.

Is Paulmarie a boy or a girl? I'm tickled that someone decided to call their kid Beula, though!

It's like she pushed it out and said, "What an EPIC childbirthing experience!" and decided to run with it.

I must admit I love hearing the story of your daughter's name (I've seen it in other communities). And she looks like such a Ripley. Ripley Honor Elora. How pretty!

Heaven is better than Nevaeh, in my opinion.

What's with the kre8tiv spellings? Why not just name the kid Destiny or Eleanor? Or Jasmine? (My fiance's sister's name is Jazmyne, and I just can't stand it.) Or Jada?

I like Malinda spelled "Melinda."

Etta may be uncommon, but it's not weird. It's just old-school -- like Etta James, or Etta Falconer (she was a mathematician for which my alma mater's science building was named after. Lol.) Same thing with Leola, and Beulah. I also knew a girl named Anitra, or at least knew of her. And Aida...that's pretty. And Rudolph isn't uncommong, I don't think.

I like Cassiopeia, although the associated myth isn't so flattering for her.

I admit...I'm a bragger. *grins shamefacedly*

But yeah...it suits her, very well. Thank you!!!

DESTANY! UGHHHHH
that irks me beyond belief.
if you're naming your kid after something that is a real word (Destiny) you shouldn't just be able to make up your own spelling.
