Amelia and Emilia are different names.
Amelia is a German name with royal roots, whilst Emilia is the eminine form of a Roman name.

They are pronounced slightly differently, thoug I suppoes they would often get confused.

I prefer Amelia, though Emilia is lovely it would get mixed up with the million Emma's and Emily's far too easily.

I'm not really a fan of Emilia, though, but I suppose that has something to do that I dislike most names ending in -a.
