Hello everyone! 
I'm new here. My fiance and I are having our first baby and let me tell you it was quite the surprise. We found out at 7 months! We've had the names picked out forever though...well before we knew we were pregnant and everything.

If it's a boy his name is James Aiken (the 6th).
If it's a girl we're naming her Luna Faye.

I guess for traditions sake if it was going to be a boy we had little say in the name! :p

I like James Aiken a LOT, and while I don't like Luna much, I think Luna Faye is cute.

Gracious. That's quite the surprise. Are you carrying small? I checked your journal (sorry, creeper I know, but I was curious) and I hope everything is well with you.

James is my favorite boy name, other than Gabriel. And I knew a little girl named Luna and it really grows on you after a while, even if it is strange at first glance.

I haven't had a proper menstrual cycle since I was 14. My mom was just diagnosed with cancer and a brain tumor last year. Because of this all my doctors thought I was suffering from a brain tumor. I had next to no pregnancy symptoms until about 2 weeks ago. A week ago I took a test and when it came back positive My boyfriend and I went to the hospital for confirmation.

When your doctors are telling you that it's a brain tumor or cancer...and you've been told since 14 you'll need fertility treatments to have babies, pregnancy really isn't on the mind.

I like Aiken...and it's a 6th generation name. I think it's neat.

I like Luna, but not so much on Faye. Although I agree that they go well together. James is NMS but fine, but Aiken is the name of a really trashy county where I grew up, so I couldn't ever use it.

Don't worry. I only get annoyed when people tell me "well...you COULD HAVE taken a pregnancy test way earlier"....
Obviously I know this...but what would leave me to believe I was pregnant in the first place....so yeah...I only get offended when the conversation goes that way.

Luckily for me...I think I'm more excited about if it's a girl. If it's a boy I'm happily indifferent to what we name him. :p

What would you suggest then for a middle name that sounds pretty after 'Luna'? I always just think of fairies when I hear Faye...I must admit I'm a bit of a hippy dreamer. :)

Okay, good! I have no problem with Jr./III/IV whatever names, as long as the names are actual likable. I mean, if you hated the name, I'd say, USE SOMETHING ELSE, but James Aiken is great.

Sorry to butt in, and please forgive me if this sounds rude. I honestly don't mean for it to be but I, too, am curious.

How was it that you never felt the baby move? Having never been pregnant before, I could be extremely mistaken, but I honestly thought that mothers could feel their babies moving somewhere closer to the five month mark?

Anyway, congratulations. As for the names...I like Luna, though for me it has strong Harry Potter connotation so it leaves me a little torn about the name. James Aiken is nice, but I personally am not a fan of Jr, 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc.... But, again, that's just personal preference. The name itself is nice, though.

OMG that's terrible! and wonderful at the same time. I guess hearing "you don't have a brain tumor, just a baby" brings a certain amount of joy for a number of reasons...

I didn't know I was pregnant. My lifestyle did not support a healthy pregnancy. I drank/did drugs unknowingly. My baby could be in terrible health or underdeveloped. Maybe I didn't feel it move sooner because...maybe it didn't move sooner.

Maybe biscuit did move and I just never connected the two because my doctors told me it was impossible. I really can't say. I took a test as soon as I thought something was up and ended up in emergency the next night. I acted on it as soon as I thought I might be.

My brother mentioned Luna and Harry Potter too. While Faye would be her middle name we would call her 'Luna Faye' as if one name. Though I really have no problem with HP...it's not where the name came from. My bf and I are pretty much hippies.

And if it's a boy we wouldn't call him jr. He'd be James. My boyfriend goes by Jamie. I didn't even know James was his real name for like a year after I met him...but we've been together 4 years now...so I could never call him James (I'm too used to Jamie).
