Dec. 24th, 2008 01:21 amI need help coming up with a first and first-middle name (since the second middle name is Yasser) for a girl.
The format would be something like *Mary *Jane *Yasser* *Lastname. I don't really care about how the names flow with Yasser since it pretty much has to be there. Below are some names that I like, but you don't have to use the names that I listed for the suggestions. I like Arabic names but not exclusively. The only Arabic names that I refuse to use are Fadwa, Malika, Iman, Maram, yeah...
I have to incorporate Sara (SAH-ra, not SARE-uh) into the name if it's a girl. I don't want to use it as the first name because I think it's just too plain. I think it would be better as a middle name, but I'm not completely against it.
Family Arabic names
-Noura (I love this one and I think it's probably the most neutral, but then it's a little too common [with Arabs & Muslims])
-Mizna (MIZ [rhymes with "fizz"] - na [rhymes with "the"]. I love this name but I'm curious how others feel about it)
-Wathha (it's pronounced like WATH[with a "th" as in "that"]-ha...I love the name but the spelling looks ugly to me and it would confuse people)
Non-family Arabic names
- Aisha (I love this name but I hate all of the possible spellings for it and I don't like the non-Arabic pronunciations of it)
- Moza (it means banana, not directly, but in a cute/nice way)
- Najla (it means big eyes)
- Zainab (I've just always liked this name.)
Family non-Arabic names
-Helen
-Ruth
-Cecilia
-Raisa
-Rivia
For a boy I think I'm absolutely stuck with Mohammad. I think it's a nice name but it's just a mouthful sometimes. Also his name would be Mohammad Yasser Mohammad *Lastname.* Oh well. Can you think of a cute nickname/shortened version? Anything but Mo...ew.
