a sort of unnusual question

Because of personal reasons I have been considering changing my name. The thing is I don't want to change my first or middle names... I want to change my last name and I don't know if you can help me some here or not. My full name is Monica Eloisa and my last names just... don't go with me. Considering I am hispanic but speak english and plan to move somewhere that english is the main language I want a name that sounds good in both languages. I am pretty sure I want to use my mom's last name as a first last name. That being Ruiz. I have given some thought to the second one (as hispanics often do I have 2 last names) and I think I am pretty sure I want either Cervantes or Cohelo. Now... as most of you are english speakers... which one do you like better?

Ruiz sounds best with your names :) and it's also the easiest to spell.

Cohelo risks to be always confused with Coelho, like the author.
Cervantes is ok, but too long and not too "particular".

Cohelo is going to get that H pronounced like nuts. Cervantes is at least going to be vaguely familiar to folks because of the author. Cervantes wins out, in my book.

Cohelo looks like a typo of Coelho to me. But I like Coelho; it means bunny or rabbit in Portuguese. Cervantes is also nice.

I like Ruiz as a first last name and Cervantes as a second last night. Monica Eloisa Ruiz Cervantes sounds good and Monica Cervantes sounds great, as does Monica Ruiz.

I am half temprted to consider going for Monica Eloisa Cervantes Ruiz because my mom's name is Monica Elena Ruiz Barros... so she is Monica Ruiz =) and Monica Cervantes does have a nice ring to it.

Oh! I forgot to tell you, Ruiz doesn't really mean anything in spanish but it's my mom's name, she never changed her maiden name so it's my grandpa's name, and I love it because I love my family on my mom's side.

I prefer Cohelo because I think Cervantes would be too recognizable (because of the Spanish author) as opposed to whoever the "Coelho" person mentioned above is, as I have never heard of them. But also, I think Cohelo (which I assume is either "Coh-low" or "Coh-ell-oh") sounds both English and Spanish, and as such would be more in keeping with what you're looking for. Whereas Cervantes, despite its relation to the Spanish author, seems more french to me. But maybe that's just me.

Cervantes, definitely. I wouldn't be sure that I was pronouncing Cohelo properly, but Cervantes I can, and it sounds good with the other names.

I would like it pronounced Coh-ell-oh but that's the problem I am seeing... it's a bother to always be telling people they're pronouncing your last name wrong. Thank you though!

Cervantes. I like the sound of it better than Cohelo, and I think it'll be easier to pronounce. Cohelo: Do you pronounce that H? Does the E say "ee" or "ay"? That sort of thing. Also, I think Cervantes has flair.

Noooo I love my first and middle name. They go with me sooooo well. I adore my nicknames too and Monica is my mom's name and Eloisa is my grandmother on mom's side, she died a long time before I was born but everybody says I am like her little clone because I look a lot like her and act like her too!
